This is not a year with a clear frontrunner like “The Cove” or “Man on Wire” or “An Inconvenient Truth.” It’s a year when some of the most acclaimed documentaries (“The Interrupters,” “Project Nim”) didn’t fare well at the box office.
Eddie refers to fair use guru as “legal Obi Wan Kenobi”.

The 10th Ashland Independent Film Festival launched yesterday here in the rolling hills of the Rogue Valley. As ever, it promises an invigorating mix of not-found-in-multiplex fare, close encounters with filmmakers, a wonderful setting, and a richly varied calendar of events, all rolled into 5 chockablock days.

The celebration was hosted by DGA member Morgan Spurlock whose feature Super Size Me earned an IDA nomination in 2004.
